Today we had a meeting at the U.S. Consulate to get Maddy's visa to come home. With the new procedure that you apply for approval before you travel, it was basically just a formality where a couple signatures are required and that's it. So now we have the visa in hand, but still no earlier flights available. We were going to go out and do some more shopping today but we decided to stick around here because Maddy was a bit crabby today. Last night was actually a really good night-she went down at about 7:30, woke up once for a bottle around 2 a.m., and then slept until 6:30. But then we were out all morning for our appointment and she missed her morning nap, and so she was a little overtired for the rest of the day and not her usual happy self. I think she is teething as well because she is chewing on everything and she started drooling a little more. Craig took a walk and did some exploring today and you don't even want to know what he saw! When you walk down the main streets, they have these little back alleyways that are outdoor markets. Well, he took some pictures to show me and they are definitely not going on this blog!
Put it this way, everything you think they eat here-they really do!
Later on we went and hung out by the pool with one of the other couples here and their daughter Bella, and new daughter Becca. Maddy likes being outside in the breeze so that kept her happy for awhile. We bought some DVD's while we were out shopping yesterday and they are all movies that are still out in the theaters like The Dark Knight, and Get Smart. We got them for less than a dollar each and now we see why-we are watching one now and all of a sudden we see the shadow of someone getting up with their popcorn! It's so funny but its something to pass the time!

The picture of her and Craig sleeping is so sweet. It made me cry! I know I'm sappy. So you have new movies huh? Look at the bright side, it was pretty cheap entertainment, if you don't include the plane fare! As far as Craig's adventures into the alleys of Hanoi, DO NOT bring me any new recipes home!

Thanks so much for sharing your journey with all of us PAPs... I feel the need to find out what Craig saw in the alley if only to prepare ourselves when we arrive!
