Home sweet home!

Well, we made it home! Maddy was a little trooper on the 30 hr journey. She slept for most of the flights which gave Craig and I some time to sleep as well. When we touched down in Seattle she became a U.S. citizen. My Uncle Jim and Aunt Patty live in Seattle, so they came out to the airport to see us during our layover. It was so nice for them to meet Maddy, but I wish we had more time to spend with them. We got home at about 7 a.m. Wednesday and I couldn't wait to see Griffin and give him a big hug and kiss! He was still sleeping when we got home, so Craig told me to go show Maddy which room was going to be hers, and when I opened the door I got the biggest surprise-the room was completely painted, decorated, and the furniture was all in place! It was like the show "While you were out"! I couldn't believe it! Craig was secretly planning all this with my friend Dena, and our next door neighbors Stephanie and Jim. It is beautiful and exactly how I wanted it to look. It really is perfect and I can't thank them enough! The pictures don't even do justice to how nice it looks, but you get the idea. Maddy got to sleep in her own room last night and now I don't have to figure out how to get the room done.
Then Griffin woke up and met his sister for the first time. He was very excited to meet her, and he gave her a present that he made for her-a piggy bank and he decorated with stickers and it says "sister" on it. It was so cute when he gave it to her because he was so proud! He is doing pretty well with her, but he does have his jealous moments when he wants us all to himself. He likes to help out with her though, so when she is crying I ask him to make sure she is okay so he will pat her back and say "Its ok Maddy". Jet lag hit us pretty hard yesterday, and it was a struggle to stay awake and take care of 2 kids for the first time. I took a 2 1/2 hr nap in the afternoon while Craig took the kids, so that helped and we got a good nights sleep last night so I think we will feel better today. We can't wait to have everyone meet Maddy-Craig's brother Scott and his wife Natalie are coming over for dinner tonight to meet her, so that will be nice. I'm sure this weekend we will see more friends so I will post some more pictures soon!

Before I read the blog and was looking at the pictures, I thought Maddy's room was adorable! How wonderful that your husband and friends planned such a special surprise. Best to all of you and keep us posted!
